GPTech Awarded U.S. International DFC Technical Advisor for Geothermal Project Development Contract
GPTech has been awarded a contract via the General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule to support the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as a Technical Advisor for geothermal project development.
Under this contract, GPTech will serve as one of the first Technical Advisors to assist the newly formed DFC with critical review and recommendations for developing detailed engineering design specifications and services needed to advance and secure financing for a 50-megawatt geothermal project in Ethiopia. GPTech’s team for the contract includes world-class expertise in geothermal project design, operations, and financing, including a key contributor to developing Ethiopia’s national geothermal energy strategy.
“We are honored and very excited to have been selected by DFC to provide a critical contribution to ensuring that this important geothermal project in Ethiopia is designed and implemented to best assure financing and successful operation,” said GPTech’s President and CEO, Phillip Green. “Our team brings deep technical expertise in geothermal and renewable energy project design to DFC, as well as experience in energy project financing and development across Africa.”
This new advisory partnership with DFC builds upon GPTech’s work with U.S. Trade and Development (USTDA), having completed over 50 proposed energy project assessments for Sub-Saharan African countries since 2013, as well as serving as USTDA’s Worldwide Energy Engineering advisor since 2016.
